Police arrested an Afghan teenager for over triple stabbing in the south-western German town. It was the local mayor who was passing by and apprehended the attacker after persuading him to put the knife down.
This 19 year old Afghan asylum seeker was taken into custody on Friday after he stabbed three people in the Ravensburg’s town center, the police made this as their official statement. Where the teenager stabbed three people.
The victims were two Syrian asylum seekers ages 19 and 20 years old and a 52 year old German man. The victims were rushed to the hospital where one of them was reported to be in critical condition.
The authorities said that the motive behind the attack was still not clear. But however the terrorism had been ruled out.
Police also blocked the paths from south-western town for the afternoon as the experts interviewed, examined and witness the crime scene. Two victims were found on a bus stop near one of the city’s main square and the third one was about 50 meters far away.
This was very unusual and in this twist the suspect was apprehended by Ravensburg’s mayor, Daniel Rapp, who also told German news agency dpa that he happened to be in the same area when the stabbing took place.
“The perpetrator stood in front of me suddenly with a bloody knife and threatened me, then I told him to put the knife down” said Rapp.
The man also followed the instructions Rapp said. “It was an instinctive action,” he added.
Soon after this, police had arrived and arrested the man. They said on Twitter that the 19 year old teenager appeared to have acted alone with, “no evidence to suggest there were accomplices.”
